Matt Byrne
Founder & Director
Matt is the founder of Day One Advisory and has a passion for working closely with business owners to help them achieve their goals.
Originally from Busselton in South West WA Matt now lives in Melbourne with his young family. When not working Matt is working on something around the house, taking his daughter to swimming lessons, walking the dog or travelling somewhere warmer than Melbourne.
Matt is a Chartered Accountant, registered tax agent and has a Masters of Tax Law.
Katy Luo
Client Manager
Katy, originally from Beijing, loves returning to her hometown and traveling around Southeast Asia with her husband to visit family, indulge in delicious food, and fill her suitcase with as much shopping as she can.
Back home in Gisborne, Katy enjoys cooking, organising her pantry and fridge (she has a bit of OCD and loves labelling everything), keeping her garden under control, and going out with friends. She also manages her own Airbnb in Lakes Entrance, where she enjoys hosting guests and making sure they follow her detailed instructions and recommendations.
Katy is a Chartered Accountant with 15+ years working with SMEs.
Joy Talapiero
Bookkeeper
Joy likes to live a simple life in the country in the Western Visayas Region of the Philippines. She spends time with her nieces and hanging out with friends. Joy loves to travel and wants to see more of the world.
Joy has a degree in Accounting Technology from the University of Bacolod City and has ~10 years of experience as a bookkeeper with Australian SMEs.
Lauren Leigh
Admin
Born and raised in New Zealand, Lauren moved to Australia at 16 with her family, eventually settling in Brisbane where she now spends her days wrangling two adorable little girls.
As the go-to for all things admin and organisation at Day One Advisory, she thrives on streamlining processes, tackling new challenges, and keeping everything running smoothly. Before this, she spent a decade running a thriving business alongside her husband of 8 years.
Lauren loves camping in the cold, sipping red wine, sneaking dark chocolate after the kids are asleep, trying new food and exploring new places with her little family.
